THE FLORIDA KEYS INTERNET GUIDE

ALLIGATOR REEF ranges in depth from 12 to 60 feet. It is a small bank reef with some transitional reef features. It is located about about 3.5 nautical miles southeast of Upper Matecumbe Key. It is easily accessable and has mooring buoys in place. Divers will notice the quality of coral formations increases dramatically in about thirty-five feet of water. At this point you find nice brain coral and ledges that serve as home to a variety of species of tropical fish.
